Welcome! In this article we'll show you how to reorder the columns in your Canvas gradebook. You make a custom layout or select a preset layout for your gradebook. A custom layout will take longer to make, whereas a preset layout will be fast and easy to set up. Let's get started!
Open the gradebook
To begin, open the Canvas gradebook by clicking "Grades" in the course navigation menu.

Change the gradebook layout
To make a custom layout, drag and drop the assignment heading. You can arrange your gradebook in any order you would like.
Choose Preset Layout
Open the "View" dropdown menu [1] and select "Arrange By" [2] from the list. Preview and select your desired layout from the list of options [3].
